Show Stopping Colors and Dramatic Flair Abound

Command attention year-round when you add the stunning Center Stage® Red Crape Myrtle to your landscaping. Featuring dramatic, nearly black foliage accented by bold cherry red flowers, this plant will add endless visual interest.

The Crape Myrtle thrives in Zones 6 through 10 and its sturdy, upright habit makes it ideal for planting in small or narrow spaces. The distinctive dark branches and leaves boast incredible bright blossoms all summer long, adding striking pops of color to yards of every style.

Vigorous and hardy, this variety was specifically designed to resist disease, as well as heat and deer. The unique style of the Center Stage® Red Crape Myrtle makes it the perfect addition for anyone seeking an easy to grow plant that will truly stand out. Add some vivid brilliance to your landscape today!

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Choose an area with well-draining soil that will receive 6-8 hours of sun a day. After you have found your planting area, dig your hole twice as wide as the root ball and just as deep. Place your Crape Myrtle in the hole and make sure that the root crown (where the root ball meets the trunk of the tree) is level with the soil surface. Backfill the hole and water to settle the roots. Finally, mulch the area around the tree to conserve moisture.

2. Watering: Though they are drought tolerant once established, you may have to water young Crape Myrtles more often, especially in the summer heat. If you're not sure when to water, simply check the surrounding 3 inches of soil for dryness and water when this area is dry.

3. Fertilizing: Regular fertilization is recommended for this plant to ensure robust growth and vibrant blooming.

4. Pruning: Dead wood can be removed in spring, once new growth has begun, and pruning can be done as needed.
